NISKU, Alberta, Canada (September 15, 2014) – Link Suspensions of Canada, LP, is proud to introduce the SWB (Spring over Walking Beam) Tandem Steer Suspension. The SWB combines the patented Link® walking beam for steer axle applications with an efficient mechanical spring suspension. The innovative design enhances durability and reduces maintenance, while maintaining cost-effectiveness when compared to conventional twin steer leaf spring options in the market today.

“In contrast to current standard twin-steer spring suspensions, the SWB offers advantages that are specifically targeted at vocational fleets looking for superior performance,” said Chris English, Managing Director of Link Suspensions of Canada.

Based on walking beam technology, the SWB tandem steer suspension provides superior control to equalize the load and maintain wheel alignment during operation – resulting in improved tire longevity and reduced chassis wear. Custom-tapered leaf springs meet the carrying capacity demands for heavy-duty vocational settings. This combination of walking beam and spring suspensions offers noticeably improved ride quality. In addition, with just two wear-points, as opposed to ten in a traditional twin-steer spring suspension, preventative maintenance is simplified.

With a rating up to 40,000lbs, the SWB suspension is offered for new tandem steer conversions and as a retrofit suspension for existing tandem steer chassis. The Link® SWB Tandem Steer Suspension is available through Link Suspensions of Canada, LP.
