Since 1980, we have been the premier cab suspension manufacturer of choice for the Class 7-8 truck market. It began with one truck driver searching for a better ride. The result was Cabmate. This extensive history with OEM truck manufacturers provides distinctive capabilities to meet the most stringent strength, durability, and mechanical targets demanded by each application. These capabilities extend into our line of auxiliary lift axles, and are exemplified by our partnership in the Volvo 6×2 Program.
Link’s collaborative engineering approach drives performance for heavy-duty trucking suspensions; enhances installation efficiency; and improves overall driver well-being. We are able to drive down overall cost and extend OEM resources while providing lighter, more robust applications – and safer, more comfortable experiences for the driver.
Link and Link Suspensions of Canada bring more than 20 years experience tailoring solutions to meet the rigorous demands of today’s vocational markets – construction, refuse, concrete, crane and others. We collaborate with OEMs, including Mack, Terex, Navistar, and Manitowoc to design the most reliable and durable heavy-duty suspensions, custom fit for each vehicle.
And our Applied Technology Center (ATC) allows our engineers to work collaboratively with our OEM partners to develop, test, validate and analyze emerging technologies to enhance our components and meet the challenges drivers face each day in the field. Our tandem steer and tandem drive suspensions have been field tested in some of the most difficult environments; the Canadian oil fields and logging industries.
From lift axles with capacities to 20k, tandem steer suspensions with capacities to 70k, or Air Link® TD tandem drive suspensions with capacities to 84k, Link vocational suspensions are able to provide solutions where others have failed.
We introduced our first fire truck suspension application in 1999 to help remedy ladder breakage for a major OEM. Since then, it has become a standard option for most major fire OEMs. Previously known as the Raydan Suspension, our Air Link tandem drive suspension is a reliable and durable combination of air spring and walking beam technology. It delivers everything you demand in a fire truck suspension – high roll stability, low maintenance, superior load equalization and a smooth ride. It is available for most fire truck manufacturers for tandem drive configurations and for other severe service vehicles.
The Link Atlas is also available for fire applications and translates the benefits of the Air Link tandem drive suspension into a single axle envelope. Originally developed in partnership with Rosenbauer, Atlas provides up to 35,000 lbs. of carrying capacity without sacrificing performance – an ideal application for both aerials and pumpers.
Our 35-year history in developing cab suspension solutions for the trucking industry has enabled us to address the unique demands of ag machinery OEMs. We engineer customized cab suspensions, for sprayer applications, that are the most effective and economical solution for ride comfort and other considerations in the agriculture market. Our collaboration with AGCO includes our ability to design modifications to standard fittings to ensure longer product life. Our in-house paint facility ensures our suspensions meet the rigorous agricultural paint standards to help slow the damaging effects of weather and chemical forces – something most other suppliers are unable to accomplish.
Link’s complete chassis air suspension, UltraRide, is engineered to both improve the ride and handling of buses, ambulances and medium-duty trucks. The user-friendly design and ease-of-installation of our components reduces downtime without sacrificing operator and passenger comfort, ease of access or safety. With UltraRide, you can be confident of reliable, proper alignment, increased stability and reduced frame stress. When used with Link’s electronic air kit, ambulance customers can easily monitor proper ride height and lift with optional on-board diagnostics.
Link supports a variety of US and Canadian military and government projects. Our expertise in engineering heavy-duty suspensions for the most formidable conditions has translated into projects with defense contractors including Choctaw, Mack Defense, Navistar Defense and Lockheed Martin for global deployment with the US Navy, USMC, US Air Force and Canadian Military.
Link’s detailed engineering and rigorous testing has allowed successful development of a completely new 84,000 lb. Heavy Transport Truck for the US Navy. The project finished ahead of schedule and completed over 375,000 miles with no failures.
Link manufactures professional state-of-the-art mortuary handling equipment to address a broad range of mortuary needs, and serve all sizes of mortuary service providers.
