Atlas is designed from the ground up for the demanding life of fire and rescue vehicles with extra wide bearing surfaces to provide high yaw stability resulting in stable and predictable cornering. The robust design provides enhanced ride quality, superior cab protection and significantly reduced maintenance expenses.

The Atlas suspension has a combined system, consisting of the suspension components, crossmember, and axle control rods, all engineered to work in harmony with the chassis. Each air spring absorbs road shock and vibration normally transmitted through the frame, thereby decreasing impact to the cab and load. Overall, the Atlas suspension offers safer onsite operation with dual height-control valves and integrated jounce bumpers for the safest, smoothest ride available.

    Durable Trailing Beams

    The rugged box construction evenly distributes the load in order for maximum traction and maintained alignment. The trailing arms are designed without bearings and seals for minimal maintenance and wear points.

    High volume air springs offer low natural frequency to improve the body and aerial life of your truck. The system is proven to isolate of the chassis structure and driver from road vibration stress. Internal rubber jounce stops support the vehicle even during airless operation with minimal drop in ride height.

    Dual Height Control Valves

    Dual height control valves maintain optimum vehicle ride height independent of the load. Each valve levels the vehicle side-to-side delivering high roll stability while reducing lean with uneven cargo.

    Polyurethane Bushings

    Polyurethane provides a longer service life and minimal maintenance compared to rubber block suspensions. The polyurethane bushings do not require grease and the bar pin end bushing shims allow for easy alignment.

    The suspension is designed to have lateral and longitudinal control rods to create a parallelogram with the trailing beams. These control rods are designed to maintain alignment and give stable pinion angles through articulation.
